The houses

A few houses,
personally managed.

Every Kichi is inspected, furnished and looked after by us. All of them rent by the month, 30 days minimum, and more join through 2026. Many are older houses in ordinary neighbourhoods. That is the product, not a caveat.

The standard

Every house, set up the same way.

We would rather run a few houses properly than forty loosely. Before any Kichi goes live, it has:

  • Wi-Fi installed and tested
  • A washing machine
  • A working kitchen, equipped for real cooking
  • Proper bedding, not a spare futon from storage
  • An English house guide, from rubbish day to the nearest onsen
  • Photos that show the house as it actually is

How availability works

Each house is set up fresh for every lease: checked, cleaned and made ready before you move in. That is why we ask for at least three weeks' notice between booking and move-in.

The coastal houses are at their best from May to October; the city and lakeside houses work well year-round. If your dates are flexible, say so in your enquiry. It usually means better options.

More houses are joining through 2026, Osaka next. If nothing here fits, tell us what you're looking for and we'll let you know when the right one lands.

One rule on every house: 30 days minimum.

Every Kichi is booked as a fixed-term residential lease. It is a tenancy, not a hotel booking, and no booking can be made or shortened below 30 days. Read the terms of stay.
